- You are eligible to contribute to an HSA if you are enrolled in the Cigna HDHP.
- You contribute pre-tax dollars through payroll, up to the IRS limit. McAfee matches your annual contribution.
- Tax-free: no federal tax on contributions, or state tax in most states. Withdrawals are also tax-free as long as they are for eligible healthcare expenses.
- No "use it or lose it." Your balance rolls over from year to year.
- You own the account and can continue to use it even if you leave McAfee or retire.
- You are not enrolled in other non-HDHP medical coverage, including Medicare, Medicaid or Tricare.
- Due to IRS rules, you can't be claimed as a tax dependent on someone else's tax return.
- You can't be enrolled in a healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
